June 29, 2008:

The contractor for the remodeled church restrooms and lounge area was here this week to address the punch list of “loose ends,” and that space should be ready for use. We will have to wait a few weeks for the new furniture to arrive and will plan a more formal opening and chance to honor the Huling family, whose generosity made the remodel possible, once everything is in place.

This week, we advertised the RFQ (Request for Qualifications) for general contractors for the parish center (former convent) project. Click the links above to review them. Responses are due by July 10, and we plan to select the successful candidate by July 30. We expect to actually break ground shortly after the first of the year. Ed Merklin, Mary Rehm and Sarah Dahleen, members of the Renovation Planning Committee, have just completed a brochure that will be mailed out shortly to bring everyone up to date with the status of the entire project.
