ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT LOAN CLOSET MINISTRY
Holy Rosary has a sharing closet full of medical supplies for those who require support or safety assistance in their homes. It was first started by the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  The medical supply closet has shower benches, bedside commodes, walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, incontinent supplies, and many other pieces of equipment that people might need.  We accept donations of gently used safety equipment.

COFFEE AND DONUTS MINISTRY
After all Masses on most Sunday mornings, a Coffee and Donuts hour is offered in the School Hall. This gives parishioners an opportunity to meet and get to know each other.  Volunteers are needed to set up, serve, and clean up. Time Commitment:  1-2 hours per month

COMMUNITY MEAL MINISTRY
Community Meal serves hot meals for low-income neighbors. Held quarterly, several area churches and agencies unite to facilitate this marvelous meal that serves about 150-175 guests.  Help is needed to plan the meal and shop for groceries, set up the hall, prepare the meal, serve, and clean up.  We also rely on parishioners to share home-made baked goods so that we can serve dessert to our guests!  Time Commitment:  3-4 hours per quarter

FAMILY LIFE CORNER MINISTRY
Family Life Corner is located in the narthex of the church.  It is a table stocked with crayons, pencils, and coloring activities to keep young parishioners busy at Mass so that their parents can be full participants in the liturgy.  These materials are faith based, so even if the youngsters aren’t able to follow what’s happening during Mass, they still are thinking about God and our Faith.  There is also a library of gently-used books for the youngsters to look through.  The Family Life Corner is always looking for volunteers to keep the area clean and tidy and stocked with books, crayons, paper, etc.   Time Commitment: 1 hour per month

FAMILY PROMISE
Family Promise is a social service agency that helps homeless families with children by getting them off the streets and into a stable, supportive environment that moves them toward self-sufficiency. Holy Rosary is a part of Family Promise’s network of congregations and volunteers that provides community, temporary housing and food. Our guests are referred to us by established social service agencies. We can help a maximum of 14 people at a time. All guests are interviewed and screened by the Director; they sign guideline agreements, various releases and health forms, and develop a personal plan of action. Persons with serious psychiatric, medical, legal or substance abuse problems will not be accepted into the program and will be referred to other agencies. We do not ask our guests to worship and do not attempt to convert them to any religion.

When it is Holy Rosary’s week to offer temporary shelter, we house our guests in the Parish Center.  Our trained volunteers provide all meals (continental breakfast, bag lunches, and warm dinner), spend time in the early evenings with the families, and stay overnight. During daytime hours the families are transported to the Day Center where staff will work with guests to find suitable living arrangements and job opportunities.  Commitment time: Varies

FUNERAL RECEPTION MINISTRY
A rewarding and meaningful ministry in which volunteers help set up, serve and clean up for receptions following funerals. We try to keep a fairly large list of volunteers so that no one is called on too often.  Time Commitment: Varies depending on need and number of volunteers.

GREETERS MINISTRY
Greeters create a welcoming atmosphere at the entrances of the church. Offering a smile and a word of welcome can have a profound impact on people as they arrive, especially if they are visitors to Holy Rosary. Our worship will only be truly hospitable when everyone who gathers for liturgy reaches out to those around them with the love of Christ.
If you are a person who enjoys meeting people, please consider becoming a greeter. The greeters invite everyone who gathers for Mass to enter the church with the joy of the Lord.  Ministers are trained.  Time commitment: 20 minutes before Mass 1 to 2 times per month.

LUNCHES OF LOVE MINISTRY
Brown-paper bag lunches of non-perishable food and drink items are given out to individuals who present themselves at the parish office.  These individuals are assumed to be homeless and/or in need of food.  Food items should be packaged in such a way that they are easily opened by hand.  Parishioners simply prepare these sack lunches and bring them to the parish office during office hours.  Time commitment: Varies depending on need.

MANNA FROM HEAVEN MINISTRY
Manna from Heaven delivers hot, homemade meals to Holy Rosary families who have had new babies, elderly members of the parish and those who are in need of extra help with a hot meal due to illness or unexpected crisis.  Volunteers are always needed and welcomed for this ministry.  Time commitment: Varies depending on need.

PARISH NURSERY MINISTRY
During the 9:30 am Sunday Mass (Mass time may vary), Holy Rosary offers a nursery for small children (ages 9 months to 4 years) in the Parish Center.  This allows parents the opportunity to attend and be full participants in Mass without being distracted by the needs of their little ones.  The children have fun playing with toys and making new friends.  There are generally two to three volunteers staffing the nursery, and a donation of $2.00 per child or $3.00 per family is suggested to help defray costs.  Volunteer Commitment is approximately 2 hours per month.  Volunteers must pass a background check and complete The Safe Environment Program.

USHERS MINISTRY
The Usher Ministry helps facilitate at Mass. We are responsible for the collection. We involve parishioners in bringing forth the Gifts during the Offertory. We help distribute and collect hearing aids, help seat parishioners, and distribute bulletins after Mass.  The Usher Ministry seeks responsible and dedicated volunteers.  Volunteers are trained.  Time commitment: approximately 1-2 hours per month

WOMEN’S SHELTER MINISTRY
There are four different ways to volunteer: Supplies and Cleaning, Overnight, Transportation, and Hospitality.
Our shelter is open each Sat. and Sun. night with two trained volunteers (women or couples) who stay with our guests. Volunteer drivers (male or female) transport the guests from Noel House in the evening and return them to Noel House in the morning. Hospitality volunteers provide a healthy “snack” in the evening. To make this ministry work we need lots of volunteers. Volunteers are trained.  Time commitment: Varies depending on number of volunteers and the area in which one volunteers.
