JOHN MADIGAN, Pastor
206-937-1488, ext. 205
How long have you been on staff at Holy Rosary?
It will be 6 years in July
Job Responsibilities
Whatever calls for the service of a priest! Celebrating the Liturgical and Sacramental life of the church from Baptisms to Funerals and everything in between. I visit the sick and dying at home, in care facilities and in hospitals. I take my turn with other priests for hospital calls at nights at the major hospitals.
Any hobbies/interests outside of your job?
I have never cultivated hobbies, which is probably a loss in my life. I played sports--soccer in the leagues when I was younger and skiing, both downhill and cross country. I have not kept up the skiing in recent years. I love to travel and see different parts of the world and I hope I can visit some of the remaining places on my "bucket" list while there is still time.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Even though priesthood has changed greatly since I was ordained on June 9, 1974, I still love being a priest. I can’t imagine anything I could have enjoyed more. I think that at 70--5 more years if God allows--I will step back from the pastor role and give my services in a purely helping role where needed.
PATRICK BARREDO, Pastoral Associate

Any hobbies/interests outside of your job?
Soccer, cycling, Notre Dame football, reading, cooking for my wife and 3 kids!
Anything else you’d like to share?
“What we would like to do is change the world--make it a little simpler for people to feed, clothe, and shelter themselves as God intended them to do. And, by fighting for better conditions, by crying out unceasingly for the rights of the workers, the poor, of the destitute--the rights of the worthy and the unworthy poor, in other words--we can, to a certain extent, change the world; we can work for the oasis, the little cell of joy and peace in a harried world. We can throw our pebble in the pond and be confident that its ever widening circle will reach around the world. We repeat, there is nothing we can do but love, and, dear God, please enlarge our hearts to love each other, to love our neighbor, to love our enemy as our friend.” Dorothy Day
