Since 1909 Holy Rosary has been a vital part of the West Seattle community. Our mission now is the same as it has always been – to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and help others to do the same, as we grow in love of our God and one another. This guidebook provides you with a list of some of the ways that you can fulfill this mission in and through our parish ministries and apostolates, whether within our Sunday worship, through various communities of faith, or in service to one another or our neighbors. It would not be possible to accomplish our mission without the participation of each and every member sharing their own God-given gifts and talents to build up our community. Like the Apostles themselves, we too have been sent forth into the world to share with one another the kindness and love of Jesus. I thank you for your generosity and faithfulness to the mission given to the Church by Jesus Christ, as we strive to grow in faith together.
In Christ, Fr. Matthew Oakland
Holy Rosary Catholic Church asks that all her members be active disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What does it mean to be a disciple?
Worshipping God in the Sacrifice of the Mass on Holy Days (including Sundays)
Regularly praying and spending time with our Lord Jesus
Living the Gospel through the Commandments and the Beatitudes
Serving Jesus in our brothers and sisters, particularly in our parish community and local neighborhoods
Financially contributing to the Church to support her work through our tithe, or as best as we are able
In baptism we became members of the one Body of Christ. As such the gifts and talents which we have received from God can and must be used as we live our faith and contribute to the ongoing mission of Jesus Christ and His Church. Prayerfully reflect on your giving of time and talent to the parish and community.
